About Us

Who We Are

The BCWCA was formed to ensure Aged Care Clients from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds receive the multilingual support they need to face the challenges associated with Ageing. Our Co-operative has the most experienced Care Workers who receive ongoing training and support, and speak a range of languages (Greek, Italian, Arabic & Chinese).

Mission & Vision

To promote and enhance the Quality of Life of residents entrusted in our care, by providing highly trained and experienced Care Workers who speak a variety of languages.

Support At Home

The BCWCA provides many services including Virtual Social Groups (WebCareConnect), Domestic Assistance, Personal Care, Meal Prep, Transport, Social Support & Backyard Chicken Coop Installation.  These services have been designed to keep our clients in their homes for as long as possible.

Multilingual Care

Multilingual Support is imperative in our operations. The BCWCA understands that providing Multilingual Support enhances the client experience and earns the trust of non-English speaking clients.

What We Are Doing

Although COVID-19 presents with mild symptoms for many people it can be life threatening for older people and those with compromised immune systems or other health conditions. It is for this reason we ask all our stakeholders to work together to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

The BCWCA is keeping up to date with government changes affecting the way we work and live. We meet all government benchmarks and offer and encourage our Care Workers to wear face masks (along with other recommended PPE) when they will need to breach social distancing measures as part of their work tasks.

The safety of all our stakeholders during this time is our top priority.

Protocols

  • BCWCA members meet regularly to discuss changes to government measures and requirements
  • Government PPE benchmarks are adhered to and we also provide face masks to all our Care Workers.
  • All staff have completed government Infection Prevention training as well as other non-mandatory government training. All staff follow the following guidelines
  • We have developed new services designed to meet social distancing measures and keep our clients safe
  • Arrange for non-essential meetings to be moved online or over the phone.
